Regional History Museum
Visit the Regional History Museum, located in the beautiful building of the former Central Mineral Baths in the city center of Sofia. The Regional Museum exhibition presents the history and the development of the Bulgarian capital since the time of the Neolithic period until the 20th century. The building itself was built in the early 20th century and initially used as a public bath due to the hot mineral springs in the area.
The building of the Regional History Museum of Sofia was designed in the Vienna Secession style, however, the architects integrated typical Bulgarian, Byzantine, and Eastern Orthodox ornamental elements. In addition, there is a small park and a fountain in front of the museum. The permanent exhibition of the museum is displayed in eight different halls.

Your journey will start from "The Heritage of Antiquity" hall, where you will discover astonishing archeological items from various epochs found on the territory of Sofia. The next hall is related to Christianity and is called "Strength of the Spirit." Here you will have the opportunity to encounter Christian items, icons, and documents.
